Salavat crowned Russian hockey champions

Salavat Yulaev have been crowned the ice hockey champions of Russia. The Ufa side saw off a gallant Lokomotiv effort to narrowly secure the series 3-2.
It was Salavat who roared out of the locker-room. But Lokomotiv, who have been the stereotypical comeback kids this season, leveled matters around 10 minutes later.
A tight second period followed before Salavat truly proved that they're the best team in the land.
Three unanswered goals from the hosts lead to the league's best regular season team becoming the 2008 grand champions.
That’s the first ever Russian championship for Salavat.
