The list of art objects from a renowned Belgian conceptual artist at Moscow Diehl + Gallery One even includes tattooed pigs. The new display mixes Wim Delvoye’s showpieces with Russian ones bought by art patron Volker Diehl.

In the 1990s Delvoye used the skin of dead pigs as a canvas. Later he found a way to induce anesthesia on the creatures and turned to living beings.

The artist is always ready to experiment with new materials, whether its laser-cut steel sculptures, or almost pornographic images x-ray-like images.

Being an expert in contemporary art Volker Diehl brought to Moscow the full collection of his Diehl. Meanwhile his Berlin gallery holds an exclusive display called ‘Contemporary art from Russia’.

In April 2008 Volker Diehl became the first western art dealer to open his own exhibition space in Moscow. Diehl + Gallery One focuses on contemporary international and Russian art.

The gallery is centrally located on Smolenskaya embankment with a view of the Moskva River and nearly 600 square metres of space.

Until the end of October, Delvoye’s showpieces are to be extended by Russian art works.
