Ouch! Samuel Peter (left) vs Oleg Maskaev
Samuel Peter of Nigeria stopped Russian Oleg Maskaev, dubbed The Big O, in the sixth round, pummelling him with 12 unanswered power punches to force a stoppage and claim the WBC heavyweight title.
Peter, nicknamed the 'Nigerian nightmare', certainly lived up to his tag as far as Maskaev was concerned and was already well ahead when he landed his KO combination.
The scheduled fight between the two had been more than a year in the making with a back injury to the Russian champion holding up the clash.
While many in the boxing world would like to see Peter in a rematch with IBF and WBO champion Wladimir Klitschko, it's his older brother, former world champion Vitaly Klitschko, who has the inside track to take on Peter next.
