Published: 14 December, 2006, 09:22

Eight games were played on Wednesday in the final UEFA Cup group stage to define the clubs qualifying for the next round of 32. Teams from Groups E to H were in action. The next round drawing procedure is to take place on Friday.

In Group E, Blackburn Rovers secured top spot with a 1-0 win over Nancy – the French team go through in Second, as do Feyenoord in Third. The Dutchmen were 3-1 winners over Visla Krakow.

The big game in F saw Zulte Varegem lose to Ajax 3-0 at home. However both teams will join top of the table Espanyol who beat FC Austria 1-0.

It is Panathinaikos, Tel Aviv and PSG who secure the 1-2-3 placings in Group G after Wednesday's games. The French side, who previously hadn’t won a game in almost 2 months, spanked Panathinaikos 4-0 in Paris.

And finally, Fenerbache snuck in the backdoor with a 2-2 draw at home to Einetracht and joins top side Newcastle and Celta Vigo in round 32.
