The curators of Moscow's Tretyakov Art Gallery have re-arranged the exposition of the 20th century art. Some paintings were restored and brought to light from the gallery's vaults. New items were donated by private collectors.

And one of the works was created especially for this display. “The seasons of the Russian painting” by Aleksandr Vinogradov and Vladimir Dubosarsky features fragments from iconic pieces by Russian classical artists.

Meanwhile, the range of the brand works has not changed with the renovation.

The main innovation is the new principle of exposition.

“Previously the principle was monographic. The accent was on the artwork of particular painters. Now we are free to break the chronological unity if we need,” said Irina Lebedeva, curator.

Thus the curators try to make the exposition more dynamic and convenient for the visitors.

Nevertheless, the curators say this variant is not the final one.
