A Turkish state-owned TV channel has refused to air a video clip by a pop singer who will represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow, calling Hadise’s video ‘too erotic’.

According to Turkish daily Vatan, the TRT channel didn’t like the fact that Hadise was too frivolously dressed when she was belly-dancing to her hit ‘Crazy For You’, and was asked to reedit the video clip. Hadise Achikgoz refused.

However, according to the flamboyant singer, the channel once promised her not to interfere with her performance.

“I met with TRT representatives three months ago and showed them my Belgium concert. I feared that they might find my costume too revealing, as I was only wearing shorts, a corset and a bra”. However, Hadise says, she was assured that the channel had no problems with it.

The 22 year-old Turkish singer is often referred to as the ‘Turkish Beyonce’.

She was born in Belgium, where she took part in the Pop Idol music contest. The young star was offered to represent Belgium at the 2009 Eurovision Contest, but decided to fly the flag for Turkey instead.

Hadise speaks four languages, but at the Eurovision Contest she will be singing “Crazy For You” in her native Turkish. The song went on air on Turkish TRT channel two weeks ago and has won the singer an army of fans.

According to bookmakers William Hill, Hadise is one of the three favourites to win the Eurovision Contest in Moscow, along with Norway and Greece.
