Erykah Badu: known for her beauty, crazy hairstyles, eccentric looks and charming vocals, star of rhythm-and-blues, jazz, soul and hip-hop. One of the most remarkable figures of the neo-soul scene returns to Moscow.

Erykah started singing aged four. At fourteen, she had already achieved notoriety, performing together with well-known jazz musicians. Her lifelong creative road led her to what is now called neo-soul.

This sophisticated genre was invented in early 1990s by those musicians who wanted to combine traditional post-war jazz with ’60s soul, as well as the psychedelic sound of Jimi Hendrix, straight-forward hip-hop and electronics.

That’s the sound of Badu, a multiple Grammy-winner, African-American singer and songwriter.
Her albums have become platinum numerous times, with each new one becoming more and more original and further from the mainstream. Her last album "New Amerykah I. 4th World War" in a symbiosis of funk collages with children's voices and loud trip-hop mantras on Rastafarian themes. But even those make it to the top of the charts.

She’s not new to Moscow’s fans – Badu visited Moscow in 2008 and made it an unforgettable show.

However this time it won’t be easy to get to the neo-soul diva’s live show, as it’s going to be held in Moscow’s Barvikha Luxury Village concert hall, which can be fairly named the city’s most expensive and posh concert venue. Ticket prices start from around $300, which is definitely not affordable for the majority of people. Erykah Badu will give her concert on October 11.
