It’s time to celebrate the 50th Grammy awards for the world’s music industry. This year Russia will be well represented at the ceremony, with two of its most successful classical musicians.

Opera diva Anna Netrebko, who's just announced she's to become a mother, is up for Best Classical Vocal Performance on her Russian album. Last year she was named musician of the year by Musical America magazine.

Also conductor and violist Yury Bashmet is nominated for the Best Small Ensemble Performance with the Moscow Soloists' Orchestra.  Earlier this year, he received the Order of Honour from President Putin.
