Two world records broken at the Pan Pacific Championships

American Michael Phelps and Australia's Jessica Schipper have both broken world records in the 200 metres butterfly at the Pan Pacific Championships.
Schipper – the 100 metre butterfly world champion clocked 2 minutes 5 point 40 seconds – nought point 2-1 seconds quicker than the previous record set at last year's finals. Twenty one year old Phelps broke his own 200 metre record clocking a time of one minute 53 point 80 seconds.
