The film ‘U2 3D’ puts viewer within the pulsing energy of a live U2 stadium concert. Marrying innovative digital imagery and 5.1 Surround Sound, it creates an impressive cinematic experience in the first ever rock concert shot in 3D.

“To do that it takes two cameras. And each one is doing a different job,” Peter Anderson, Director of 3D Photography, explained.

 One of the reasons why the movie is so ground breaking in the concert-film genre, is the pioneering use of what is called stereoscopic cinema.

Right eye gets the left eye's information. Your brain reconstructs stereoscopic 3D in your head based on two different pieces of information,” David E. Franks, VFX supervisor, said.
