FC Zenit St. Petersburg has gone down 1-3 to Olympique de Marseille in the first-leg of their UEFA Cup match.
They were bidding to make the quarter finals.
Dick Advocaat's men were up against the testing atmosphere of the Stade Velodrome.
Marseille’s Cisse opened the scoring just before half time and Niang added another just after the break.
Then Cisse bagged his second and Marseille’s third, before Zenit’s Andrey Arshavin scored at the death leaving the men from St. Petersburg needing to score at least two in the return leg.
The second-leg match will be played on March 12 in St. Petersburg.
