She boasts the most demanding scenery in the competition and flaunts an aggressive sexuality on stage. Her name is Svetlana Loboda and she is Ukraine’s entry at Eurovision 2009.
This ambitious and talented performer is fighting for a place in the final with her entry “Be my valentine” or “Anti-crisis girl”. But organizers have warned that Loboda’s stage show could be dangerous. The singer and her dancers will be performing acrobatic tricks on a sophisticated set involving heavy props and fireworks.
Her stage scenery is the most demanding and ambitious of the contest. The problem is the stage crew only has only 30 seconds between songs to put the entire structure together. It has the appearance of huge iron wheels but is draped with heavy lighting equipment and has fireworks attached.
However Loboda is completely calm and confident, totally concentrated on her performance. At a media conference she said the crew “had to work really hard to realize their goals.”

“It requires the involvement of all team, including pyrotechnicians and set builders… there is still much to be done.”
The singer and her crew seem more bothered with the show they’re going to present than with where they finish in the semi-final.
Loboda wrote both the music and lyrics to her Eurovision entry. But one night before the semi she decided to change the last lines of the song. Instead of “Baby, you’re so fine, Be my Valentine”, the last line goes: “Baby, I can save your world, I'm your anti-crisis girl!”
The multi-talented and ambitious Ukrainian is involved not only in music, but also in fashion and photography. Loboda has already exhibited her photographs taken in India and launched her own clothing brand.
