The idea of exchanging bodies has already been played out in several movies, but now it's getting a fresh charge by director Aleksandr Strizhenov. In his new film confusion and consternation are the order of the day with comic results.
The plot is pretty simple. A couple turn to a psychotherapist in a bid to reignite their feelings for each other. But instead of long, trusting conversations, the psychotherapist has his own unusual method of restoring their relationship – body exchange. And he does so without warning his clients.Though irony can be found throughout the movie, the director Aleksandr Strizhenov says it's a serious issue.“It's not a comedy at all, it's a serious problem. Seven years of family life – and love has faded away,” he explains.Popular Russian actor Gosha Kutsenko and pop star Christina Orbakayte play the leading roles. They say it was an unusual experience as they had to rehearse every scene twice, first their own part, and then the role of their partner.“Gosha used to ask me, ’Christine how would you react in this case?’ He showed me and that helped me in my role,” Christina recalls. The story is based on a play by playwright Andrey Kureychik, which has been performed in front of packed houses in Belarus. But the creators of the movie are sure the film will score even more success.
