A 60-year-old lady has been detained in Karaganda for a deliberately false phone call in which she said that the music school was mined.
On June 3, a woman who wouldn’t introduce herself, called a music school for gifted children to inform the authorities that the school was mined. The field services immediately arrived and had to evacuate nearly 100 people. Mine sweepers have searched the building but still couldn’t locate the bomb.
According to the ‘VZGLYAD’ newspaper last Friday, the suspect was detained by members of the regional counter-terrorism division. It turned out to be a 60-year-old lady! She admitted having made the call, and explained her grandson couldn’t make it in time for the first lesson and she wanted to help him out of the impending punishment.
“The boy complained that his teacher treated lateness as absence. In order to aid the worried child, his grandmother decided to call and warn of an explosive in the building. She expected the evacuation to last some time, and thus save her grandson from being scolded” – a press service reported. A criminal case has been initiated against the elderly woman.
