Violinist from Japan on Moscow stage

Published: 29 December, 2006, 17:00

The “December Evenings” music festival in Moscow has come to an end. One of the last musicians on the stage was talented Japanese violinist Mayuko Kamio with a difficult yet appealing programme.

Mayuko Kamio's favourite composer is Shostakovich, but on this occasion the choice was not hers to make, so the young violinist was a little nervous.

Mayuko said the works by Beethoven and Stravinsky featured in her performance did not really suit her, but still the audience was enchanted.
