Roman Pavluchenko scored three goals for Spartak
European football teams have begun their bid to reach the group stage of the UEFA Cup. Spartak Moscow, Zenit St Petersburg and Lokomotiv are all off to a great start in the first round of the competition.
Spartak thrashing Swedish second division team Hacken 5-0.
Roman Pavluchenko grabbed a first half hat-trick in Moscow for them.
Zenit beat Belgian side Standard Liege 3-0. Andrey Arshavin got two goals there.
And Lokomotiv Moscow came from behind to win 3-1 against FC Midtjylland in Denmark.
