Moscow is to become the fashion capital from the March 30, when Russian fashion week opens. Dozens of Russian designers will present their new autumn – winter collections on catwalks at Moscow's World Trade Centre.

The week will feature a special men's fashion day with a show by famous French designer Francesco Smalto. A special day will be dedicated to Spanish fashion, with a catwalk highlighting designer shoes from Spain.

British, Ukrainian and Georgian designers are also in the schedule, though week’s general producer Aleksandr Shumsky say Russian fashion is their priority.

“We keep to a strict policy regarding international designers. The number of collections from outside Russia must not exceed 20% of all shows. This is Russian fashion week, it's mostly a national event and our prime aim is to provide an opportunity for Russian designers to present their work,” Shumsky says.

Clothes to wear in the autumn and winter will be displayed on the catwalks, though the season yet seems too far away.
