The new fixture list for the Russian 2008 season has been announced. And there's a mouthwatering encounter on day one. The reigning champions Zenit will host last season's runners-up Spartak on March 14 at the Petrovsky Stadium.
Oleg Blokhin, the new head coach of FC Moscow, faces a long trip first up. His side will travel to Vladivostok to play Luch Energiya.
Newly promoted Shinnik face a difficult away trip to CSKA Moscow, while fellow new boys Terek entertain Krylya Sovetov.
The calendar hasn't been totally completed as the interests of the national team, which will take part in the Euro 2008 championships in June, and the clubs' interests need be taken into account.
