Prominent Chechen killed in Moscow

Moscow police report that Ruslan Yamadaev has been killed in the centre of the city. He was a former deputy of the State Duma and member of United Russia Party, who held a title of Hero of Russia.
Another man was wounded in the shoot-out. He is retired Colonel General Sergey Kizyun.
Yamadaev's car was reportedly attacked and he was shot dead in the centre of the Russian capital. Colonel Yamadaev was a well-known man in the Chechen republic.
Reportedly under his command, up to 150 militants were detained or killed. He was a deputy of the State Duma from 2003 to 2007.
In 2004 he was awarded with Russia’s highest sate order – The Hero of Russia.
