More views that our own government's.

"In his turn, Lavrov stated that the fallout from the alleged chemical attack is aimed at sabotaging discussions in Geneva while the West tries to substitute inspectors' work with their own statements.

“Those involved with the incident wanted to sabotage the upcoming Geneva peace talks. Maybe that was the motivation of those who created this story. The opposition obviously does not want to negotiate peacefully,” Lavrov told an urgently convened press conference in Moscow.

"He mentioned that the timing of the alleged attack “suited” the opposition."

THE only real Mr President Putin - Handsome, intelligence, strong leadership, understands negotiating, smiles with confidence, makes an effort to work with Russia's BRIC allies (yes India is also with you Russia, please do not ignore her people power bring her on board)

Cameron - buffoon, idiot, incompete, arrogant, snobby, no idea who or what BRIC is, insulting, thinks uk runs the world, brown nosing american obama backside! Enough said I could go on!!!

Basher al-Assad is maybe clever enough not to use chemical warfare, but his brother Maher al-Assad (commander of the 4th Armoured Division (elite-division) and Republican Guard) is an uncontrollable aggression-factor.
f.e.: In October 1994, Maher was involved in a violent altercation with his cousin Ribal Assad outside the Sheraton complex in Damascus. Several years later, in October 1999, Maher got into an argument with his brother-in-law, Gen. Assef Shawkat (the husband of his older sister Bushra) and shot him in the stomach.

i meant Russia's legit interest in the area of Syria.

I think Al-Sisi who told Morsi that Eqyptian Military was to support and defend Egyptian Borders and not intervene in other Sovereign countries affairs was an expression of the true necessity of militia. U.S. arming rebels, creating a shadow state...this is a proxy war against and their legit interests in the area....It is shameful what the United States with their mandate in the area is trying to impose...I'm glad to see that 46% of U.S. citizens do not support military intervention...there is hope for this country to live up to its ideals.

It just seems absolutely crazy to me that anyone could actually think anyone other than the western backed rebels could be responsible for these chemical attacks. Anyone following the situation in Syria over the last 2 years would have seen routine claims of chemical attacks or the murder of civilians by Assad as a pretext to invade. 2 months ago was the last claim of chemical weapons. Assad is mopping up the rebels using conventional means, he has no need to use WMD especially when the UN has inspectors on the ground!!! Murderous Rebels (Al Qaeda, the same terrorists US fight in Afghanistan) we support in Syria!!!

NoOne 29.08.2013 07:23

USA regime often uses napalm, depleted uranium, agent orange, it is a chemical weapon. and what? Nothing. Double standards of US gov. us is the biggest liar

Rick Gannon 29.08.2013 02:04

According to "Before the news" it was the rebels, but this morning's news, UN has told Obama that it was the Syrian Government fault.

Nyran Stanton 28.08.2013 20:52

Um no there is evidence, VIDEO evidence that the rebels did the chemicals. Theres proof the rebels did the chemicals. Look up you tubes, you idiots

Peter Knopfler 28.08.2013 20:32

It´s the OBAMA shuffle, no it is not in our interest to call it a coup. Ha that worked, lets try again. ït´s not in our interest to know who used chemical weapons, only that it was used so we can too¨. Just not in our interest to know or speak of any TRUTH. there will be a Response¨, says UK&USA. I SAY DRONE Attack on Syrian BASE, and Bombs on ISRAEL, potty time or party time, diapers anyone.

This is all a "Wag the Dog" opera - to take the world's mind off the many scandals, failures, and problems Obama has created. Everyone knows he is incompetent, psychopathic Narcissist, Megalomaniac. He would believe he was 'right' even if he put on two left shoes!

Laura Key 28.08.2013 16:02

After all the lies Obama and his administration have spewed out... why on EARTH would we believe ANYTHING the federal government spinned?? That would take 'stupid' to a whole new level. Obama OK'd the gas hit on Syria last December. That is common knowledge. The gas grenades & weapons used in Syria were from the Libyan fiasco weapons smuggling payoff at Benghazi ... which is why Obama's regime has been squashing the truth there.

KillingBritain 28.08.2013 12:50

We have been shown no evidence that proves anything other that chemical weapons were used. They show nothing about who fired them, it could have been anyone. Cameron is a fool who jumps an speaks before he thinks.

jack dick 28.08.2013 09:19

scenario, Assad is winning, Obama can't let that happen, send the CIA in with chemical weapon, blame Assad.
