Team Russia has started to make inroads at the Volvo Ocean Race on their way to nearly 40,000 nautical miles around the world. Russia’s first team entry since 1993 managed a solid sixth place finish during the first open-sea leg to Capetown.

Team Russia has finally finished the second leg of the Volvo Ocean Race – more than three days behind their rivals. The Russian crew became the last of eight boats to arrive in Cochin, India.

Team Russia’s boat has won its battle to be ready for the start of the Volvo Ocean Race after it had been damaged in a collision last weekend. It was returned to the water on Wednesday after four days of being patched-up.
