Rostov-on-Don: land of sunflowers and hi-tech hub

Located in the fertile lands of Russia’s south, Rostov-on-Don is the country’s gateway to five seas. It’s one of the busiest ports, and millions of tonnes of the region’s goods pass through its canals.
Rostov definitely has some things going for it, logistics, education, agriculture and technology. There is still however, quite a few, who leave my 'village' and head to Moscow. But its nice to visit them! Rostov is the garden of Russia, we need however, make sure that the oil guys don't starve us with ideas on Biofuels, we need some legislation to cover this. I certainly enjoyed moving back to Rostov, and am happy with what is available there, all be it, that it is definitely a 'village' in the nicest possible way. I would welcome more investment, especially to create more innovative companies able to address domestic and world markets.
I loved this documentary I am studying for the Foreign Service Exams of my country and I would love to be in Russia unfourtunately the Embassy it´s in Moscow not in Rostov-on-Don, I would love to have a house close those Sunflower fields and get up in one of those fantastic helicopters. Love Russia!!!

Thank you very much for the documentary. Two of my Russian friends live in this region (one in Rostov and the other in Taganrog). According to them, Rostov region is home to universities that are good balances between the quality education and price - including Southern Federal University and Taganrog State University Of Radioengineering.
