Russia probes alleged Georgian war crimes

The Russian military has launched an investigation into alleged crimes committed by Georgian soldiers during last month’s conflict in South Ossetia. The exact number of people killed in the war is yet to be established.

Russian military: 71 peacekeepers killed in conflict

Identification of the bodies of the Russian peacekeepers who perished during the armed conflict in South Ossetia will take a while. So far, 71 Russian peacekeepers have been confirmed dead and 341 wounded.
