Russia-Ukraine gas row rumbles on?

Ukraine has not paid off its gas debt to Russia, according to reports in the Russian media. Daily Gazeta says this is according to an unnamed source at Gazprom. The source, though, refused to be more specific about the exact position of the balance of pay
Meanwhile, Ukraine's official position is that it made the remaining payment on April 28, 2008, as Ukrainian PM Yulia Timoshenko announced during her visit to Moscow.
Yury Prodan, Ukrainian Fuel and Energy Minister, confirmed her words.
“We have paid off the gas debt to Russia in full,” he said.
