In an interview with the 'Rossiya' TV channel, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has warned against setting up a military confrontation with Iran.
“As I have repeatedly said, military action against Iran will have catastrophic consequences. This region plays a key role in supplying most of the Western countries with energy. Any interruption of this supply will inevitably cause a severe crisis. I do not want to revert to the language of the past. We do not wish America evil, or trouble, or defeat. What we want is that the U.S. would use its huge, colossal, world-biggest potential for its own benefit as well as for developing mutually beneficial co-operation with other countries,” Sergey Lavrov stated.
Iran’s nuclear issue will be discussed during the meeting of the UN General Assembly next week.
