Russian opposition in the eyes of the western media

Barack Obama's visit to Russia is not limited to meeting those in power. He also talked with Russia's opposition politicians, but the West’s perception of Russia’s anti-government political movements may be one-sided.
Who, and what is exactly the opposition in actual Russia??? The Communist Party is in opposition But I doubt that Obama will meet with Genady! The Communists are not Democrats in the US eyes. It will look bad at home! Possibly the NLPR of Jirinovsky. I also doubt that Obama's political advisers will let him meet Vladimir Wolfovitch, as a member of the Russian opposition, he is not too saintly with the US Jewish Lobby. Who else? Lemonov and his friend Gasparov? Those two are not a serious opposition, they are just provocations, for CNN and other Western Videos, to show Soviet type repressions on the streets of Moscow and SPB!
Krapotkin - spot on, the meetings were hardly with opposition, they were with selective opposition. The standard approach of the west trying to forment problems for Russia. I think there is room in Russia, for another opposition party, one that is committed to a very militarily strong Russia, leading the agenda and dismantling the western corrupt financial web. At the moment it looks increasingly as if Russia is being seduced into following, instead of leading. It could be that the leadership is being clever and continuing Putins agenda of building strength while eating lobster. If this is the case, then great, otherwise we need a new opposition with military strength and principles to lead and tackle the west on torture, illegal invasions, finacial terrorism, supporting of terrorism ..... indeed all the illegal activities they are involved in. It was very disappointing that these issues were not raised by Medvedev this week.
Well i strongly object. I live here in California and i have not seen anything bad about Russia. To be honest our media is just weather, traffic, diet, and many other things that aren't important at all! I have actually never seen anything in tv about another country especially Russia. I have seen change in Russia in the past 20 years as the reporter said and they are huge changes and I'm 17 years old! I'm interested and fascinated in the history of Russia and its current state. If anyone in Russia would like to teach a 17 year old boy about Russia please do so! my e-mail address is toon4chino@yahoo.com thank you very much and please stop your one sided views of the U.S. and i will gladly defend my country aswell as listen to international opinions. -Bryant
Bryant how did you see change in Russia, if there is nothing about other countries on your TV? Can you explain to me, why you need me, or anyone else to teach you about my country? Why not just watch RT? We are quite a hard bunch, we have a big heart, are family and friend orientated and are soft with young people, but if people cross us, we really don't like it. Do you get the picture?
@Count Cash. I have seen change in Russia through RT, gone through many sites to learn about Russia, read most if not all reports by RT, read many comments that Russians posted. i need and want some one to help me learn about Russian culture/life because I LOVE RUSSIA! I do watch RT more than any other program and like RT's news reports more than American news. Also it is different to learn about Russia through reports only than to watch reports and speak and interact with a Russian citizen! I would love to just learn about everyday Russian life and its history. I would love to learn about what Russians think about and what their opinions are. Please do not get offended be me wanting help. I do not want help to judge or criticize Russia but because I will visit Russia when i am older and wouldn't feel like an outcast immediately because i don't know what to do or how to behave properly. So if anybody would like to teach a 17 year old Californian please do! my email address is toon4chino@yahoo.com. Thank you and much love Bryant.

Kasparov (true name Garry Kimovich Weinstein) is a pathetic joke, and the Russian voters see right through the hidden agenda of this pro-western anti-Russian Armenian-Jewish dissident. The West may delude itself into thinking that this man is a symbol of Russian opposition to "authoritarianism" but in truth he is obviously a straw man, a thinly veiled agent of US neo-conservative forces. It is equally obvious that the Russian voters see it too.
