I think you mean the Van Allen Belt. The average satellite with 3mm of aluminum protection, receives 2500 rems a year, or 25 sieverts passing the belts in its regular orbit. That's 2500 rem/year. The guaranteed lethal dosage is 1000 within a very short term. Now, having protection from the spacecract, plus the spacesuit, would likely mean less than 2500. Assuming even one day was spent in the Van Allen belts(it really was a few minutes for the high energy inner belt and 1.5 hours for the lower energy outer belt). Going with the 2500 rems, disregarding greater protection provided than what satellites have, 2500 rems a year = 0.285 rems a hour. At 1.5 hours total time, .428 rems. Up to 50 for one year, or 100 over 5 is considerd safe. So radiation isn't an issue.
