Love at first spam

They say love can find you anywhere. And it’s absolutely true as two lonely hearts from the Russian city of Samara have discovered. They met each other thanks to a….. spam message.
As Tvoy Den tabloid writes, a 23-year-old Russian student, Larisa Sizova, was passing time chatting with friends using ICQ when a message from a stranger popped up. Someone nicknamed ‘Olmer’ said, “Hi, I’m shocked! Download this…” The message contained a link to a website.
Wise enough not to download a suspicious programme, the girl sent a message back to the stranger asking what was going on and why was he “shocked”?
As it turned out, ‘Olmer’, a young man whose name was Oleg, had never sent anything to Larisa, but it was a computer virus that used his instant messenger address for spamming.

One thing led to another, the two chatted until night and discovered both were single and about the same age. But what’s most important, they felt an immediate attraction to each other. Surely, photos that both had in their contact info stirred up mutual interest.
They agreed to meet the next day.
“When we saw each other, we knew at once it was our destiny to be together,” Larisa is quoted as saying by life.ru.
“It was love at first sight. And it was thanks to computer spam! It’s amazing that from a huge number of people this virus chose us. If not for it, we wouldn’t have met!” she said.
Three months later the happy couple got married. At the wedding, Oleg raised a glass of champagne to the virus.
“I hope the virus that infected us with love is incurable,” he said.
Larisa and Oleg printed their first conversation and keep it framed on the wall to show it one day to their children and grandchildren.
