The Soyuz spacecraft with the crew of the ISS expedition 18 and flight participant Chares Simonyi has safely landed in Kazakhstan.

The return journey went as planned. The space capsule was tracked by rescue helicopters on its way to the landing spot.

Soyuz has delivered Russian cosmonaut Yury Lonchakov and American astronaut Michael Fincke, who spent 178 days at the International Space Station.

Private space explorer Charles Simonyi traveled to the orbit with the Expedition 19 crew in March.

The return from the ISS was scheduled on April 3, but was delayed after reconnaissance helicopter discovered that the region chosen for landing was a swamp.
