Previously only seen in the movies, Moscow’s retro trams were paraded for the first time around the centre of the Russian capital.

The event was dedicated to the one hundred and tenth anniversary of the tram's first appearance on the city streets.

The parade was headed by a horse-drawn coach that took a year to reconstruct with the help of pre-revolutionary photos.

The tram's popularity reached a peak in the middle of the last century, but they are still a much-loved feature of public transport in some parts of Moscow.
