Russia is to donate half-a-million U.S. dollars to the Support Fund of the Asia Pacific Economic Co-operation group (APEC).

“The scientific and technical guidelines of the activities of the Fund is being opened by the Russian initiative,” he said. “Despite emerging financial and economic problems it is necessary to pay major attention to ensuring personal security, which is becoming vital in current conditions.”
He specified the task was “to develop early warning systems and eliminate the aftermath of natural calamities, minimize the loss of human lives caused by the spread of mass diseases.”
