Serbs question “fugitives-for-membership” deal with EU

July 22, 2011 05:03

Serbia has extradited its last war-crimes suspect, Goran Hadzic. The move should fulfill the final conditions needed to open membership talks with the EU. However, some experts view the process of joining the EU as a never-ending saga.

Serbia should stop giving in to Western demands, stop selling their people the dream about EU and especially NATO, since it has been just over a decade that those same people have killed and bombed them for 3 months straight! Second, they should stop extraditing their men to Hague for money in their pocket, but should turn to themselves and figure out how to improve the life of their people and still be members of Europe, not EU. Collaborate, cooperate and strengthen economical ties but don't join the sinking ship (EU)!

As for Kosovo, Serbia will NEVER recognize it as this will mean the end of it, since Sandzak, Vojvodina are next on the table. Europe should be ashamed of themselves for trying to promote on one side UNITY and on the other, dissemination of it's members. Let N.Ireland, Basque in Spain, Corsica in France other separatist group form their own "lands" and then maybe I will give my signature to Kosovo republic!! Maybe....

Well, no EU for Serbia until it officially recognise the independence of Kosovo. So far, Serbia's western appointed Government has practically recognised it, but EU is asking for an official recognition.

And if Serbia join the EU .. Brussels will insist that they taken 5 milion Muslim immigrants.

A fter all, it was the Muslims that started this whole mess in the first place.

Wait until the international bankers get their hands on Serbia. Think Ireland, Portugal, Spain.  Why not just leave Serbia for Serbs.  What is Wrong with everyone?  Why do people keep putting people in power who then proceed to destroy their countries?

Joining EU for Serbia would be huge MISTAKE! EU is in economical crapper not to mention the worst thing my country did was to join few years ago only t o leave us in economical disaster through their many corrupt&nb sp;rules and regulation plus EU is NATO subdivision in reality!
Stay out Serbia for your own good.

Serbia is not being asked to "jump through hoops" it is being asked to implement reforms on good governance, anti corruption and the rule of law. Such an agenda is in the interests of the Serbian population regardless of whether they join the EU. In response to Grubic - NATO has the money and the power to defeat Libya with ease - it simply doesn't have the political will or an international mandate to do it. Where did you get the data that NATO "fired 7000 out of 11.000 employees in last 2 years"? - or did you just make that up?

There are no rational reasons to go inside one company that is collapsing. In last few years "NGOs" and some western-payed parties tring to connect NATO and EU membership. I don't want both. Both are ruined companies where NATO is devastated even more. They fired 7000 out of 11.000 employees in last 2 years and don't have money to defeat Lybia. and after all: EU & NATO took Kosovo and Metohija from us, so there is no way that I'll vote for that integrations on referendum. This guy and Ratko Mladic are very last and the most irelevant reasons why Serbs don't want EU/NATO... Regards for RT - you rock!
