A concern yes. An inconvenience? Yes, maybe even a big one. My point was it isn't TERROR. Using the word terror here is hyperbole.
"Security experts warn that without purchasing their expensive services everyone's kettle will be hacked by Iranians and Chinese."When you can bring down the transmission network with a well placed rifle shot there is little need to worry about smart meter hacking. And regarding data mining; the only use it has in electricity is for finding marijuana growing set ups. Nobody cares about when you switch lights on and off.
I believe we all must start living naturally, as we used to
live. “Technology” is becoming evil day by day, the more we depend on it the

@Giant RoboIt could be concern for you if the effects are permanent and at a hardware level. If the meters can be reprogrammed over the air with broken firmware each meter may need to be physically replaced. This would take months to restore full service to a developed country relying on these devices and cause mayhem. We also need to look at the bigger picture, my TV and cable modem update their firmware over the air...they could be at risk to
LOL LOL LOL this is hardly deserving to be called 'terror'.Oh no hackers took my power out! Should I light a candle & read a book or just take a nap? Oooohh Sooo terrifying :)*yawns* How dependent are most people on electricity? Will we die or be harmed to go without for a time?
True however I believe the real terrorists will be the company's supp lying power. In Australia our utility's shut off power to the residential se ctor to only sell it interstate to gain more profits.
"The British government promotes smart meters as user-friendly devices to
help people control their energy consumption and reduce the number of
inaccurate bills."Trans lation:The British govenment likes smart meters as user-monitoring devices to ensure that bills are paid.
