Police in Palma de Mallorca thrashed three Russian yachtsmen who came to the island to train and participate in the Copa Del Rey sailing regatta, according to the ITAR-TASS news agency.
The news has been confirmed by the managing director of the Russian Yachting Sport Federation Oskar Konyukhov.
All three sportsmen: Denis Rozhkov, Nikita Khrekov and Roman Konstantinov are members of the RUS7 yacht crew.
On the evening of July 28 the men were returning to their hotel when they were reportedly surrounded by eight policemen armed with batons who began to beat them without explaining their actions. According to Nikita Khrekov, policemen were clubbing the Russians in the heads and legs.

Next day, absurd charges of “attacking and beating eight policemen” were brought against them.
Oskar Konyukhov says the Russian yachtsmen sustained serious injuries that were confirmed by other doctors.
The Russian Yachting Sport Federation has already spoken with regatta organizers to lend their assistance in having the charges against the Russians dismissed.
The Copa Del Rey sailing regatta takes place from July 29 till August 6 in the bay of Palma.

Russian Patriarch goes green, tells America to curb its “reckless consumption”Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill expressed concern about the state of the environment, as well as mankind’s collective soul, saying the economic crisis has lessons to teach us. |
this is just a tip of the iceberg, Russia is seen as a weak state by the whole west, they are the punching bag and punching line of most jokes, and yet, Russia hopes to win over the minds and hearts of the west!?! .. only Stalin's illusions of grand proportions are on the same level as Medvedev's and Putin's about western integration.. the west does not want integration, but your resources, Russia is too big to be like Finland, a successful country, if Russia would be successful it would lead the whole world, therefore Russia must be subdued one way or the other, and still, Russians think it is because of their economy that this is happening, they are weak now, but if they are strong then respect, no no.. there is no respect when you are targeted for elimination-- Russia's economy cannot get better for it plays the international rules which are made to suit those who made the rules-WEST-- in this game to win is impossible, to try to win in football when the judge has already decided that you have lost is insanity, .. change how economy functions, be a leader in a different economy, a revolution of the view how we see the financial world and our world.. we must change the monetary system all together.. forget about ruble, dollar, yen etc.. drop the money all together, and give your nation freedom to do what they want, consumerism is not the way to go, everybody knows this and yet everybody strives to have their population as slaves to consumerism and 10 hour shifts!! wake up Russia, you have no time left!
Spain should be ashamed of such police forces. They are not much different from common criminals. Personally, I believe that we should avoid travelling to countries were rights of the Russians are violated. As for me, I am going to boycott this destination. Let's see them surviving with their tourism sector down. Maybe this will make them treat foreigners better.

I think everyone should be treated with respect reagardless of where they are from, we love Russians in Guatemala and we welcome you to come to our country. some countries just think they have it all together but if you really think... they don't! have a great day. Ten un buen dia.
