Syria has chemical weapons and will use them if invaded by the West.It also has many S-300 anti-aircraft missiles. It has anti-ship missiles.
Syria is much better armed than Lybia.

This story is ridiculous. All of this ceasefire and peace talk is window dressing. The West wants a Yes-man leading Syria and that's what it plans to install unless Russia and China step up. And if they are too afraid to step up, then they will need to admit that the new barbarians were at their gate and they passively bought time instead of drawing the line where it needed to be drawn.

No military intervention should be allowed. Forcing/imposing things have never been the right way as it may lead to further chaos. Instead, I suppose it is better to engage Assad to resolve if firing still persists...always engaging the parties to resolve, and find their own way how to deal with it (means it comes from their own willingness) - That way, all concerns would be heard. Elections should be done - and Assad MUST come down if not elected.

Forget it, not gonna happen. Assad is in control, the west is in no position to start a war in Syria, and the time that Russia would sit "patiently in the sidelines" is long past.

 New World Order (not that fake new world order fa - ot) I understand your concern and  as I know the russian mafia who  grabbed the power after USSR collapsed and  what they did they sent their kids to educate to western colleges and now you see the results - those well educated western spies and agents work as a Russia's elite againt the interests of the country and russian people

As long as the western economy doesn't collapse, the American Empire will get its own way in Syria.  One way or another it will get the regime change that it desires, while Russia will probably sit patiently on the sidelines.

The majority of comments I read, on this article, I find total rubbish and reflect a group of people that have no real knowledge of Syria the middle east or elswhere for that matter.The sabre rattling of certain west European states and the USA are no more than the dying embers of their own economic miscalculations in the world and now suffer the consequences. Their answer sell weapons to dictators and give money to thugs to destablize regions where they are now losing control.In Syria they have failed. The Syrian government do have the situation under control and that is why the sudden demand for UN monitors to be on the ground. At the same time western powers will continue to try and destroy Syria.They will not succeed and neither will they attempt a combined military strike. They do not have the finance, and such an act would ignite the whole middle east. Syria has an extremely efficient military of 460000 personel and can become 500000. The west is not stupid.There will not be a war in Syria, but there will be elections and paid thugs will not be able to stop those elections, no matter how hard they try. 

Wherever there are six million Jews there should be concentration camps nearby. You can't afford the risk. It's good that the ones in Europe are being kept in good condition. You never know...
