'No side is interested in long-term ceasefire in Syria’
April 18, 2012 01:14
UN chief Ban Ki-moon has called for more peacekeepers and aircraft to be deployed in Syria to monitor the truce there. But are the major forces in the conflict really interested in a long-term ceasefire?

Ban Ki-Moon want an AIRCRAFT! Slippery slope! What on earth is that man all about? He is so arrogant and partisan in this conflict, that he cannot possibly discharge the job of the Secretary General of UN. Why on earth do countries tolerate the dweeb?
@ Free Syria: Of course NOT. Assad is a dictator and when was the last time a dictator peacefully handed over power? And where do you get free elections anyway? Elections are for the rotten democracies in the West, not for us (Russia, China, Syria).
Why Israel pushing for regime change in Syria?
Well logically after the Assad regime collapse obviously the Muslim brotherhood will get in power this will be a great chance for Israel and so called “coalition forces” to establish great Israel envisioned by Ben Gurion annexing more territories from Egypt and Syria with the excuse of war on terrorism. Simple as that.
As an american, I feel our role should be nonexistent Syr ia. We accomplished the Bin Laden terminati on project and freed Afghanist an of tyrrany so leave, we helped the Libyans topple Khadaffi when he was murdering civilians, Iraq with Sadaam, and up pops Syria. All countries have an interest in the mideast and those who don't see this are wearing blinders. Rebels or not it can't be tolerated for a ruler to kill his own people, If this were to happen in the U.S. I would hope the U.N. would help us. I do however think our foreign policy should change to letting the Russians and Chinese deal with their own "buddies" and see who becomes the bad guys then. I would wash my hands and say good luck cya!
+1 for Lena. So true, then Arab citizens get divided and one side claim this is the movement of the West and Salafies and the other side says the opposite. At the end of the day the West and Russia sleep together on our expense.
New World Order: I have a question for you. Just answer with yes or no please. Let's say things in Syria calms down and Assad is in control again over the whole country. Then he loses during a presidential elections, would Assad hand over power peacefully to the new elected president without creating a fuss? Be absolutely&n bsp;honest, and just yes or no.
New world order: the Russians don't care if Assad is there or not as long as they have a foot in Syria. What the Russian's absol utely know is that if they tell Assad to step aside peacefully and have someone else lead Syria, then Assad himself will cut their foot. Thus, Russia is trying the other method and actually&nb sp;supporting the UN to put pressure on the regime to leave peacefully.
Just in: ten Syrian soldiers are killed. This is what the West wants and Ban Ki Moon will support west's plan for Syria. Syria must be allowed and it has the right the defend the coutry- do the Russians not understand that regime change and pushing the Russians out is the goal not peace or dialogue?
Why is Ban Ki Moon working at cross purposes against Kofi Annan. Kofi Annan is the designated UN/Arab League envoy. He is is give a job. Ban Ki Moon should shut up and remain within the terms of reference given to Kofi. The trems of reference give did not include Aircraft survelance, it says 30 observers will go to Syria. Again, the UN Secretary is engaging the UN in a illegitimate action as in Iraq, Libya among other places. Is Ban Ki Moon a crook in the UN?
Helicopters and planes from the EU? Why not from Russia and China? Russia and China also have helicopters and planes. Besides, they both want peaceful solution for Syria (what we can't say for EU and USA).
Ban Ki Moon is a clown. ..'Aircraft and more troops'.. 'Asking the EU for helicopters'. This is the UN resolution, that Russia and China rejected, trying to get in the back door. The resolution calls for 250 observers in Syria. If the mission allows all of this hardware into the country there will be another Libyan scenario. That's after the west have sabotaged the ceasefire. These people never give up.
I smell another Ivory Coast psudo-peace mission in the making! Remember the French air-support helicoptes for the so called UN peace monitors there shooting indiscrimately against unarmed civilains and public places to install their puppet Laurent Gbabo in that country? his aricle speaks of USA presige in pursuing regime change. But the US has still not officially come that far yet though of course this is its agenda. I think the same argument of losing presige and credibility applies more to Russia and China and China if they allow the US to achieve is objectives again. NO. I don't think Russia and China are that stupid and this consideration makes the overwhelming majority of humanity to hope for a paeceful solution to this US artificially created crises.
I am sick to death of this Ban Ki Moon US Stooge (Kimchi Salesma n) urging a second Libya by stealth in insisting&nb sp;more planes are needed. Assad has not used planes due to the UN asking for just this scenario to bomb Syrian civilians just like in Libya. Now we have the worlds top US stooge trying to pull the wool over our eyes!

America using the UN as its private army again. once the UN arive the usa will encourage the rebels to attack the UN who will fire back and that will be used as an excuse to change the status of the mission to "nation stabalising" aka "Regime change".
