‘UN fetishizes peace over resolution of Syrian conflict’
May 10, 2012 19:29
Following a terror attack that left at least 55 people dead in Damascus, the UN increased the number of observers in Syria to 157 on Thursday. But journalist Patrick Hayes told RT that the UN “intervention” is only distorting the conflict.

It looks like Patrick Hayes is one of those guys who wants to see blood. In fact blood won't solve anything. It may bring the Muslim Brotherhood or some other group to power but that still won't be a government that represents all or even a majority of the Syrians. Only talks can achieve that and it is a big mistake that Annan keeps refusing to organize talks. I was sorry to see PH using terms like "the people of Syria" - falsely suggesting that the FSA represents all Syrians.PH is in fairyland. Maybe he should sleep a bit over old saying: Plus ca change, plus ca reste le meme. Putting all the energy in changing the people often results in very little change in the underlying social structure and culture.
I think war is coming to the Syrians pretty soon. 17 NATO and Gulf
states have brought 12.000 soldiers to the Jordanian-Syrian border. They
say they are only conducting drills and war games there. It's called operation "Eager Lion".
In an official statement they say: "Execution of Eager Lion 2012 is not connected to any real-world event.
It has nothing to do with Syria. It is just a coincidence."
Kofi Anan does not fool me. He's come to bring war, not peace to Syria. His soul is as black as his skin.
I am not the biggest fan of the UN but they are in Syria to (try) stop the horrendous violence - surely no matter whose side you are on that surely is a laudable cause?? Thousands have been killed now (by both sides)and it has to stop.
As hard as it might be, the Syrian's need to keep their nerve and stick to the reforms. This doesn't stop the government from hunting down these murderers and exacting wartime measures against them.
The United Nations has lost respect all over the world. Soon, this once honourable world body will give the clearance for the commencement of "humanitarian" bombing.
