The RT question is:  when do armed people who attack and kill Syrian troops lose the designation of "civilians" and become combatants? 

The Americans had a simple dichotomy. Any Iraqi who  resisted their occupation automatically ceased being a "civilian" and became a "terrorist" or an "insurgent".  Most of the people killed by American occupation troops in Iraq were by any definition "civilians". Some estimates of Iraqi civilian deaths run into the hundreds of thousands.

Th e current hysterical wailing and moaning about "civilian deaths" in Syria is politically motivated and fanned by western media.  After Assad is remove,  no one will give a damn about civilian deaths.
When does a patriot become a terrorist? When does a citizen protecting his family become an insurgent? The American revolution was the worst thing to happen to the U.S. MIC because they are the tyrants looking to destroy entire races to acquire resources that don't belong to them. Like Russia, Israel,  and Britain they will fall.
