‘Cities of Military Glory’ honoured for WW2 efforts

Three Russian towns have been presented with honourary titles for their citizens’ courage during World War Two. Dmitrov, Velikiy Novgorod and Velikiye Luki have got special diplomas from President Medvedev at a ceremony in the Kremlin.

Arnold Meri

An Estonian court has suspended the trial of Arnold Meri, an 89-year-old Estonian Red Army veteran, charged with genocide after WW2, in order to allow doctors to conduct medical tests. The examination was requested by the defence.
