The situation in and around Syria is getting to be very serious.  It's seems to be a lot more complicated than the NATO intervention in Libya.  Th e West may p rovoke a Syrian attack on Turkey, which would result in a massive NATO retaliation.

Turkey, as a country, has some serious and fundamental identity problem, which has been brushed under the rug with overwhelming force from the top for the longest time. Most people have difficult time to believe that "Turks" in Turkey constitute fewer than 5% of the population but the country's constitution does not recognize any ethnicity in the country except Turks! Panturanianism, the ideology that all Turkish speakers are Turks and will be a part of the greater home state of mythical Turan in central Asia, came to existence in the last one century following some 15 centuries of expansion of mongoloid Turk tribes westward and White Huns from Siberia. Turkey had a long history of siding with those with evil agendas. For example, Turkey ended up being a loser in the Crimean war; Turkey was with the losing side in WWI; Turkey was with the fascist camp in WWII. Today Turkey is playing a double game of playing with the Salafists camp ( Qar, Saudi Arabi) and the camp of the Western imperialists and their allies ( U.S, UK, France/Israel). Most of all Turkey wants to became a regional power by working with those who want to destroy the last strong Arab country in the Middle East and also Turkey is working with the West to destroy Iran and remove Russia from the Middle East. Russia is the hope and the answer in the face of these unholy alliance. If Russia prevails in Syria and Russia will insha Allah prevail in Syria, the Turkey will be one of the primary loser of the new radical Islamic Salafist/western imperialistic coalition axes of evil.

MOst europeans have a negative picture of Turkey. Turkey is considered more as  a parasite which applies  since many  many decades  4  EU  but  get rejected. Turkey`s position  toward  her neighbour  is also  been  formed  more through  GREED  and  extreme unlogical nationalism. That makes situation 4 all  parties worse and worse.

Turkish people are Muslims following the Islamic prophetic tradition. Iran's position about Turkey is based on a sense of realistic justice and geopolitical momentum. They should be fine, unless Turkey act directly to damage the Syrian government.
