Had the flotilla ships been flying the Turkish flag, it would have been an 'act of war'. The NATO allies of Turkey would be obligated to come to Turkey's defense. Turkey has served western security interests since the Cold War. They should continue to exercise their memberships rights in spite of the criticism from countries whose foreign policies are dictated from Israel.

I' m not sure where you got your information from, but there aren't 28 million Alawite's on this planet. 11-12 % of Syria is Alawite (2.1 million) and the total Alawite population is about 3 million.  Only in turkey we are 28 milion... and that is what they know... some people say its more... my friend... and outside turkey are 4 milion...and also that many alawi do not make themselves heard...Maybe thats the reason you think there are only 3 milion alawite...

Turkish position is more than right! . Why?Because a country that defiantly acts against the international community, that is in constant violation of the UN resolutions and mandates , a country that goes into international waters to kill unarmed pacifists and to take over humanitarian help , a country that repeatedly bombs civilians, kills stone tossers children, a country that arrgantly steps out of the UN Human Rights Council , and a country that keeps more than 1.5 million Palestinians in concentration camp like conditions , is a country that should be isolated by the international community. Worse,  israel has done all the above mentioned and still keeps on taking Palestinian workers' wages , Palestinian Authority revenues ,and keeps in building an apartheid wall in violation of all Human Rights MandatesThat country , Israel , should be boicot and his presence should be banned from international forums . Besides, is has been proven Israel cover missions deal and promote narcotrifficking in Central and South America .
