Short for words: Ukrainian MPs trade punches over language bill (VIDEO)

May 25, 2012 00:49

The Ukrainian Parliament resembled a pub when a rowdy brawl broke out between opposition and pro-presidential deputies. What sparked the tussle was a moot bill that sought to grant the Russian language official status in parts of the country.

Slavic Independence from CCCP? Hey, thank you Westerners for that fascist ideology Communism that killed tens of millions of us Slavs.
It was created to further divide us, kill many of us, and to bring in the NWO.

ALL SLAVIC people used to be ONE PEOPLE. We ALL come from the same place, our languages, our genes, our culture, traditions etc.

Don't give us a history lesson.

Ukraine is Old Russia, and East Ukraine, South Ukraine and much of Central Ukraine are Russian Speaking.

It's the West that speaks Ukrainian more. Even on Television you'll see many speaking Russian, because that is our language.

Ukrainian is Old Russian and Old Polish together.

To those of you calling for Slavic Unity, I'm with you. Put our differences aside! We're more similar than we are different anyways.

Make Ukrainian an official language for Russia and I have no problem with this.

I wonder why they fight so much, why can't they let people do what they want? I mean why does a politician care whether a peasant in southern Ukraine speaks Russian or not, how is it their business? Funny enough most Ukrainian MPs speak Russian fluently.

You can actually hear a bell at 0:35. That was the end of round 1 but they didn't care.

Canada has two official languages, Belgium two, Finland two, Spain two, Switzerland three(!), so why should not Ukraine have two official languages? The western 1/3, ukraine-speaking part of the country/population is actually trying to deny the rest of the country/population one of their basic human rights: to speak and learn their own native language, russian. Roughly 1/3 speaks only Ukranian, 1/3 only Russian and 1/3 both languages. The proposed bill does not even put Russian on par with Ukranian - it calls it the "second" state language. Still that is not enough for extreme ukranian nationalists.Almost all of todays Ukraine has almost always been an integral part of the Russian state before USSR, and during USSR. The first Russian state was the state of Kiev! In other words, most of Ukraine is a part of Russia historically. When USSR was dissolved there was a referendum in the whole of the country and people in all republics, including Ukraine, woted to keep the USSR intact (but in a new form, 72% FOR keeping the union!). As always, politicians and those in power did not listen to the people!

@ Boromir - I think you will find that the vast majority of Slavonic states actually cherish their independence and their right to self rule. Indeed millions suffered greatly under (forced) USSR rule. As a man from Macedonia you more than anyone surely should know that the Balkans has always been a hotspot of unrest, war, conflict and constantly changing borders, therefore saying that uniting under a from of the USSR will automatically solve all these problems is not only very short-sighted but very naive. Also I would like to assure you that I doubt very much that anyone is out to destroy the Slavic people - Hitler tried and failed I doubt very much anyone will be invading Russia anytime soon either - Napoleon & Hitler proved it would be a very very bad idea.

Russian language should be the official language of all the Slavonic peoples. ( over 300 000 000 )  Today, our unity is needed more than ever.

But DO NOT WORRY RUSSIA. The Republics will AGAIN BE on Moscow Side. Former USSR states, will RETURN TO RUSSIA.  THERE WILL BE ANOTHER USSR, but this time, not communism, but cooperation and partnership. What is interesting is that ALL SLAVIC STATES WILL RETURN TO RUSSIA WITH NEW FACE. I hope that devastated Balkan  region by NATO RATS will be part of this alliance, as soon as possible, and liberated from the WORLDS Nb. 1  AGGRESSOR, namely  US RATS.

Do not be stupid. Ukraine  is Child of Mother Russia. As well as Belorussia.      I personally think that ALL SLAVIC COUNTRIES ARE CHILDREN OF RUSSIA. And some day this will be known. Major problems are filthy religions that separate Slavic people. And of course THE RATS  from CERTAIN western power structures WHICH 1000 YEARS WANTS TO DIVIDE AND CON QUER SLAVIC LANDS, ESPECIALLY  RUSSIA.  .................. .....Boromir, Macedonia

So, to qualify as an MP member there you only need two arguments, on your left and right hand.

Every country should have only one official language.  Unite - not divide.
Disunity is only in the interest of the enemies.

I love these parlimentary punch ups, they are really funny :) The best are at the Taiwan Government, they really go at it.

The British Government has been planning one for ten years, they have formed a 'Punch Up' committee and are expecting to come up with a 'Punch Up Road Map' in the very near future... just as soon as they can get everyone awake at the same time.

I bet the cameraman could not stop giggling and coughing all along, and finally had to let camera go and sit down and catch his breath.
