North Korea government has plenty of food for its own favourite people, such as soldiers. Now they just want to see if they can get something for free from other countries. If you give Pyongyang any food or medicine, they will sell it on the blackmarket and use the money to buy guns and other weapons. The ordinary people won't get anything anyway, so what's the point of sending things to North Korea?
Meli ssa, you have no idea what you are talking about, but you have the right to speak of course. North Korea has over 1 million solders, where do you think those solders come from? Are they raised by the government to be used for military, or they may be coming from North Korean families? And if the government takes good care of them, don't you think that their families may be happy about it and supporting them the way we Americans support our troops? You say that "If you give Pyongyang any food or medicine, they will sell it on the black-market and use the money to buy guns and other weapons." Sell i t to whom? And buy guns and weapons from whom? So North Korea is capable of developing nuclear technology and missile technology and space technology, but they need to buy guns on the black market! You would need a little bit of brain to realize the stupidity of your statements!

im just here to say that in my opinion, if NK opened its borders and people where allowed to leave, NK would have no population left.....I think brainwashing is at an extreme  ; level there but as human beings deep down we know whats right or wrong in most cases that is.....

All that US is interested in, is that North Korea cannibalize themselves to death so that the US after a South Korean takeover may place bases across the entire western border to China. This is why China, in all due respect, should help North Korea to become independent from UN bs and their master US, so that this people may have their own country, and that way be a strong partner to China that undoubtedly will be the next after Syria and Iran, as North Korea, well they are too much Vietnamese dug in, if they can starve that people to death, so be it, as long as their chance to get their 'Korean Wall' in place there is no humanitarian crisis big enough to stop them or find new excuses to do so. China is a powerful nation. They can bring North Korea up from that hell without the UN or the US help. They need a strong allied down there just as Iran need Syria, China should act thereafter. China should not let them think North Korea is the trouble, it is as almost everyone else has pointed out already, the UN and EU, USA forcing their way, their geopolitical goal without any remorse or consideration, towards the North Korean people at large, all they got is the military to turn to and why is that? Take a look at the last 50 years of gunboat diplomacy and you get the drill.

Constant US threats, bullying and Arms Race could make North Korea far more powerful in coming years. Sometime fear makes your well prepared to confront US type of threat which has destroyed most countries in this world. Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, Balkans, Libya, Somalia, Lebanon and now Syria, Iran and North Korea next in their list. North Korea is in Do or Die Situation because US will never change their policy of Regime change and take over of every country putting their puppets in power all over the world.

Whatever N. Korea is doing, it's their business. The US has been screeching and scaring people with scary N. Korea nuclear stories since the early 90s but we are all still here.

Lots of questions on whether or NK has the abiltiy to feed its inhabitants.  The answer is yes it does, but due to a failed form of communism that has evolved into a virtual strangling dictatorship, the food does not get produced in sufficient quantity without being 'reallocated' to other than intended persons.  The govt. allocates a very small plot of land for each family or person (I forget which).  The atmosphere is one of constant fear of the govt and each other.  Informing on each other for food or favor is rampant.  It sounds like a living hell.  If you want more information, just goodle it and there will be thousands of reports, books, studies, etc. defending the premise of starvation and a few denying it.
