June 07, 2012 02:28

Tom (unregistered) wrote in #1 I'm sorry but Bradley Manning is no hero... I am sick of hearing that nonsense. He betrayed his countries trust and deserves everything he's getting. If this were the Cold War era he would of been dealt with and it wouldn't even be a question of why. He endangered informants and probably got a few killed. There are so many many underlying reasons why that it tires me to even think about typing them. Bradley Manning is no Hero....Trouble is Tom, he,s NOT a whistleblower he,not capable of blowing anything. eg. AMERICAN INDEPENDANCE never, LAND OF THE FREE never HOME OF THE BRAVE never. American,s have always lived in delusion. They dont realise they,ve always been a colony of the "Crown".We gave you the First Bank of America, we gave you the Second  Bank of  |the United States and we sent Ernest Sayd over to buy your politicians, against the American people,s interests. We never stopped, the only thing thats changed is the politicians price. The U.S. still pays tribute to the "Crown" (City of | London). As for the BRAVE have you ever seen a film of the assault on "fortress Europe" after the Soviets had broken their back...NO too busy watching John Wayne...its called SALERNO. My father was there supposed to see the American 5th Army and Gen. Mark Clark get his Chrismas turkeys and chewing gum on to the beach. He had the misfortune of being attached to the 36th. Texas Division. Americans are deliberately denied their own history...it keeps them blinded by their ARROGANCE.!!  come back.!!!!!!

It gives me a sense of pride that Julian Assange is a fellow Australian. I am also grateful that Rupert Murdoch changed changed his status to US citizen, please, could you take Tony Abbott also.

I want to add my comments reffered to Manning. Assange is a completely different story. He is media and he is doing what he should be doing.

The problem we have is this. The whistle blowers should be the media. However the media is owned by corporations. Corporations with friends and people in the government. So the government owns the media, or the corporations do that own the government. Wow that is a mess.

Anyways when the media does not do their job, we the people must. I am glad he did this. However a strong military must follow the chain of command. However who else is going to let us Americans know what is going on?  However instability and chaos in the military weakens our forces and leaves us open to attack. However.... This is giving me a headache.

Thi s would be much ore simple if the media wasn't owned by the government.

The more this government tries to shut us up, the worse it will be. The American people can and will be pushed only so far.

Despite my "however" arguements above that resulted in my new pounding headache. I think this man did us a favor. But he now has to deal with the fall out. Fighting back is NOT without it's dangers and pains.

Is he a Hero? Not sure. Is he a true American? Yes, very much so.

Armino Kink (unregistered) wrote in #7you may have noticed-there are NO whistleblowers in russia...///// You betray your ignorance of Russian history. In no particular order: 1) Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, 1970 Nobel Prize in Literature-wrote 'The Gulag Archipelago', 'A Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich'-he criticized the purges and exiles of Russian dissidents and spent time in Siberia. 2) Anton Chekhov-1880 wrote about the need for the government to treat prisoners humanely. Satirical chronicler of Russian street life during the Czarist eras. 3) Leo Tolstoy-1900 wrote the classics 'War and Peace' and 'Anna Karenina'-became a fervent Christian anarchist, anarcho pacificist, later wrote 'The Kingdom of God is Within You'-influencing both Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. 4) Leon Trotsky-organizer, writer and theorist during both the 1905 Russian Revolution and the 1917 Russian Revolution, led antiwar movements against WWI. Spent much of his life in prison and Siberia. These are just the most famous ones. Every dissident in every country expects to be persecuted, hunted, jailed and assassinated. Just because you don't bother to research your ignorant statements doesn't do much to bolster your credibility. Just because you have never heard of them, due to government censorship-doesn't mean that great, heroic people don't struggle for justice in anonymity and face the consequences of their struggle for freedom and human dignity. P.S. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union-Solzhenitsyn returned to Russia and served in their Duma. PPS-You don't see protesters being beaten, jailed, fined and sometimes killed from Moscow to NYC!

Governments often declare that they will be open and fair.Unfortunately they rarely are.Governments moving towards fascism crush dissent and gag the media. No surprises there. The way to deal with this public outcry.People of America it is 11.45 pm it's not too late you might yet save your once great nation, speak out. Meanwhile in Australia a bill was introduced into the Australian Capital Territory today giving whistle blowers enhanced rights including the right to take information directly to media organizations. It will be interesting to see how the federal parliament deals with this.

GoldMorg anti questions what will be the reaction when the label GoldMorgs becomes known to the public as well as the clear picture about the GoldMorgs and the peacefull counterbalancing with ten times as many parliament members.  RT could start this interesting development that would lead to counterbalancing the worst enemies to Russia that the USA GoldMorgs are.

I wonder how the FBI used to respond to whistle blowers in the past, who tried to publish photos of J Edgar Hoover in women's panties, for example?

I'm sure back then they were much more understanding, than they are today, right?

Julian assange  has  my  backing!  Any whistleblower  who  "opens"  up  the  "can-of-worms" on  ANY  Misrepresentation  of  LAW  deserves  a  round  of  applause!  There  should  be  NO  secrets,  particularly  on  the  Alien/UFO  front  and  certainly  Politiicans  should  remember  the  "people"  voted  them  in, " To  do  a  job"  not  line  their  pockets and  bank  balance!   If  such  people  can  be  "corrupted"  by  inside  Political  closed-doors  then  they  "deserve"  scrutiny  and  exposure!  There should NOT  be  one  rule  for  one  and  another  for  those  whom  DO  NOT  support  the  NWO!

Security is only as good as the people YOU employ. So remind me, who is to blame? the whistle blower or the idiot that employed him/her.Also if there wasnt this kind of corrupt way of working in Gov, there would be nothing to whistle blow about would there? Its onlt the fact that there is so much corruption that whistleblowers exist in the first place......honestly does this really need explaining?

Maybe This is The Way it is... (unregistered) 07.06.2012 10:22

I'm sorry but Bradley Manning is a hero... I am overjoyed of hearing that he is a hero. He stood up to his country when it was wrong and America deserves everything it's getting. If this was not still the Cold War era mentality then he would of been dealt with properly and it wouldn't even be a question of why he did it. He endangered himself and probably will get himself killed. There are so many many underlying reasons why he is correct in what he did, that it tires me to even think about typing them. Bradley Manning is a Hero!

Bradley Manning was courageous and it is assumed he did what he thought had to be done; expose the lies, corruption, and hypocrisy of the US government. Of course, the public will never know what really happened and Obama already publicly declared Manning guilty long before a trial date was set. Talk about a totalitarian state. The rule of law in America has crumbled under this  president and I supposed the ignorant comment by "Tom" is all right with this.
Many of the "leaked" documents were already being read outside the USA before Manning made it available to the US public. Before that there were also documents leaked by a US general who received not even a hand slap.
