US: Iran a year away from nukes, strike 'not off the table'

December 20, 2011 17:36

Washington is not ruling out a military operation against Tehran if it gets wind of an Iranian nuke program, declared US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta. The US believes Iran could develop a nuclear bomb in under a year.

cant Russia or someone else give the Iranians a nuclear weapon please? So all this war mongering would be over. I dont believe they try to build one but they should get one from another country like Russia. They cant use it anyway, that would be suicide, and i think Iran is that intelligent for sure

It's not even a decade since the beginning of the Iraq war and the great lies told to start that war, and they expect us to believe the government again? Not happening.

We have to get Ron Paul in as president so we can stop this suicidal and homicidal foreign policy of the DC establishment. Washington D.C. is the real enemy.

fine2opin e That scenario is the Zionist NWO one. Iran is the last true remaining anti NWO outpost. It has been able to survive all attempts to destroy it because of the FAITH of its brave people. Fact is all evil comes to an end... the blood sucking zionists, banksters, devil-worshipping murderers will be absolutely destroyed. Their time is up. Now you can take that to the bank! Hello. Not sure why this person (who is NOT ME) would place a post under my handle (Fine2opine) as 'fine2opine..huh?' and then type words that I did not write and foist them out there as my own. The above comments were not made by me and do not represent my views.

"Humans" are the problem, all.

Not one single human in these times, myself included, is able to be logical, reasonable and demonstrate the higher intelligence of common sense.

Any human saying otherwise is a liar.

The Depleted Uranium globally, proves the livers in humans are contaminated and therefore, NO brain cells synapse in a pattern of trust 100%.

Thus, nukes or no nukes, it does not matter because the brain damage is already at critical mass.

It's just a matter of time.  &nb sp;Wow...I bet your a barrel of fun a parties.

(Continued). You are correct in that I did not take into account the Arab peoples. The reason is that due to the political and social structure of most Arabic countries, the 'will of the people'  don't seem to matter all that much.  From what I read and see, (and please do correct me if I'm wrong here- as I've said, one is only as informed as what what one reads and sees) these countries are ruled by a small clique of elites that generally don't take into account the wishes of the people so much.  That siad, those elites are the same as the wests' elites in that money is thier god and they will do anything to have more of it. (Man, writing that out makes me pity those people.  To worship money of all things. They are 'disenfranchised&nbs p;of the spirit'.)  So, I do discount the average arab's voice.  Ba ck to point- You don't feel nukes are in the cards- I do. I believe Israel will nuke Tehran.  They are a warmongering nation with verified terrorists in charge.  I read an intersting point that is relevant. The person stated that the Zionists have 'wrung from the towel that is Israel every useful drop', and thus no longer have need of a Jewish homeland. Hence the push for war, knowing that enemy nations will take care of the problem (of getting rid of it) for them.  This could explain this mad rush to hostilities.  It seems monstrous, but consider the monsters we are dealing with here.  This group of elites are directly and indirectly responsible for every major global conflict of the last 250 years, resulting in hundreds of millions dead.  This whole thing is just one more war to stack on a pile of others they helped engineer.

Correctio ns: Again, the scenario painted here is the one the U.S and the British and Israel are counting on. It is pertinent to stress also that Saudi Arabia is both a people and figure heads. Do you think the Muslim world will back Saudi Arabia after it sides with Israel and the U.S against Iran? This is why I fond it interesting that missing from your analysis is the entirely Muslim population itself! Survey after survey show the Arabs and the Muslims do not see nuclear Iran as a threat. You did not mention Iraq, or Turkey and I do not know why. “Stan” central Asians Muslim countries, Russia and China are not the only the key players here. What about Pakistan, Indonesia? The U.S elite and its Israeli and the British alliance are counting on upon the initial massive attack against Iran there will be quick attempts at using the UN system to calm things down! I really do not see any thing in this. If WWIII comes the U.S will be defeated. Latin America, the Muslim world and China and even India will fight against the U.S. Hi Karl, thanks for taking the time to respond to my post.  I don't take exception to your response.  Please understand, I am not a student of geo-politics. What I do know is that I never stated the US would 'win' in an WW scenario. (There are NO winners, of course). But, more to point, in any conflict (in spite of the casualties), there is usually a 'last man standing'. I happen to agree with you- the US would be 'defeated', and the US would take the world down the radio-active toilet with it.  I gather from reading your comments that you don't feel a nuclear scenario will play itself out anywhere on the globe, in spite of the massive conflicts we are seeing.  ( Read Next Post)

Sheri I agree that not only Russia but China need to make their support of Iran open and categorical. Even the development of nuclear weapons, potentially or concretely, cannot give the U.S and Israel both of who have nuclear weapons, legitimate ground to attack Iran. Also, since Iran is threatened every by the U.S and Israel with nuclear attacks, in fact, Iran has legitimate reason to seek and develop nuclear weapons. In the final analysis, the U.S as others have also noted is acting in fascistic ways. Only broader coalition can oppose the U.S aggression. The best way to convince Iran not develop nuclear weapons is stop threatening the country with military attack.
