Millions-yr-old secrets: RT at Lake Vostok drilling (EXCLUSIVE VIDEO)
February 07, 2012 15:12
Truly mind-blowing for modern science, the 20-million-year-old Antarctic lake drilling is a life-or-death trial for explorers believes RT’s correspondent Sean Thomas, who covered some research on the icy continent.

Eagerly awaiting more on this! Truly great.
And be eagerly awaiting to see if there is any evidence for evolution from this accomplishment. Meanwhile you can learn about decades old known information against evolution here: http://eternian.word press.com/evidence

A 20 million year old Antarctic Lake? Why had I not heard of this until this story? Thank you, Sean Thomas and RT! Way to stay on the cutting edge of scientific exploration!
Because you're ignorant Elizabeth? It's old news, you sound gullible, believing whatever someone says so long as they deny the Bible is true. You also sound like a shill, someone trying to promote a story and make more out of it than there is.
Also, right now Russia is making itself more of an enemy to the US since it is banning adoptions of Russians by Americans, so it shouldn't be a surprise that those allied with the US are punishing Russia for that policy. Further, Russia is siding with the old Syrian government, which the NATO countries don't like, more reason to diminish their achievements in the western controlled media. Even pushing Darwinism may not be enough to satisfy the liberals anong the westerners.
T here may also be another reason to squelch this story: if it's discovered the bacteria or any living things that far under the water are hardly different than anything today, it would be yet more evidence against evolution, and therefore a threat to the credibility of any government which has supported Darwinism. The Bible makes it clear it is a grave error to oppose God and that those who do so are immoral, so then, those who oppose the Bible have a lot to lose. They want to hear first that there is something they can spin in favor of evolution, like, "Russian scientists discover millions of years old primitive version of bacteria, helping enhance evolutionary tree of amoeba" or something like that, they won't however, because there is no such thing as evolution.

This could possibly be one of mankind's greatest achievements. Hats off to the nation of Russia for this find!
And your evidence that this could be one of man's greatest achievements is? Like the Bible says, everything has already been done, that would include lying about the age of the universe. The greatest thing you can achieve is living a life that is pleasing to God, and dying for a friend who loves him.

I think that this is on the edge of learning about our past and our future all at once. I support what Melissa said... any chance to get more on this? Thank you RT.
Seriously!? Discovering new (yet ancient) life on our planet!? How is that not exciting? I'm with scientists on this one, find out what that's all about and don't let that dedication and extreme stress on the body be all for naught!
Wow, an ancient lake! Surely this project will reveal more interesting information regarding climate change. This is the only kind of 'Drill Baby, Drill' I support. What kind of testing will be done on the cores? Looking forward to hearing more.
