Lovely story, but is it true? Possibly the Pilot wanted to have a closed look at Marina? I am surprised that Moscow ATC does give its instructions in Russian to foreign flights? The cockpit's instruments have feet/meters readings, as well as the QNH (pressuree)in inches&kilo/Pascal. US ATC gives the temperature in Celcius for the past years.
