Chairing the Security Council meeting in the Republic of Dagestan in Russia’s south, Dmitry Medvedev said there are real results, but work on destroying terrorism in the North Caucasus must be continued.
I would urge everyone to read Paul Murphy's book Wolves of Islam on the issue of terrorism in Russia and what Russia has to deal with a subject that is totally ignored. It’s old released before Beslan but has excellent information. Check out the bit pertaining to 9/11 very interesting. Actually the main problem is corruption, organised crime that funds these terror groups inside and outside of Russia, heroin smuggling routes into Russia and the financial, training and logical support they get from foreign governments and there intelligence agencies mainly Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Britain, Germany, Morocco, Jordan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Bosnia, Kosovo province, US, Czech Rep, Ukraine, Georgia, all the Middle East countries except Iraq and most of the EU countries.
"Terrorist scum", isn't that a little harsh. Here in the USA, name calling is never permitted, it could damage someone's self esteem.
terrorism, yeah right. We all know whats going on over there.
Mr. Medvedev, Before dismissing these people as "scum", we must also consider what turn of events has turned them into such heartless terrorists. Can we negotiate with them as fellow human beings? Maybe not.
I find it somewhat amusing that the weapons used by the anti-terrorist teams are using optical gunsights made in the USA. What a hoot! Maybe they want to by some M-4s to replace the AK beaters they have now! And!! It looks like ol' Med is shooting a sniper rifle made by Accuracy International....Hmmm
As JFK: "I don't I ask my Country what he can do against terrorism but I ask myself what I can do against terrorism". Issue of viewpoints. I don't expect others help me. I only do I make my own destiny. I would like to respond to all those who talk about "poverty": "what do you do to help the poor people of the world?" And we all here on the Internet what we do to prevent these people are the enemy of us all?

Agree with you.
