Ban will encourage the group to feel they're being persecuted by the devil and will use that as an excuse to push Watch Tower agenda further, it will NOT stop them. Education will slow them down. Media should write up facts about Watch Tower's false predictions, and why Watch Tower is guilty of many loosing their lives only to have the religion change their teachings and not even apologize to the members for being wrong but claim they had new understanding from God who supposedly directs them but they deny being inspired - does that make any sense? Media should expose their Mexican dealings by claiming to be social organization and not religious so they could own land when religions were banned from owning property and why Mexican "JW"s could bribe officials to gain military card why witnesses in Malawi were forbidden to purchase political card in a one party state in the 60s. Educate, educate, educate don't ban!

This report is typical of the misinformation spread about Jehovah's Witnesses. They have been active in Russia for many many years. So many of their members were persecuted and sent to Siberia. So, why say 1990? Was that the year they gained legal recognition for the first time? Do you want your religion banned next? Or, do you want religious freedom? How will you help these people?

I was a Jehovah's Witness for over 15 yrs, and I can tell you that the JW organization definetly does pose a danger, not only to national states, but also to the psychological well being of their citizens. The reason for this is that the principle teaching of JW's, is that all modern day states must eventually come to an end. According to JW's, this destruction of modern day states, will be necessary in order for a global JW government to eventually rule the world. This, JW's claim, is Gods will, and it does not take much to realise that, in view of their beliefs, that it is unavoidable that JW's will support any action or sequence of events that will bring their prophecy to fruition. The future sequence of events that JW's believe will take place according to their Biblical prophecy, is that in the very near future every religious organization, except theirs, will be destroyed, by the military political branches of every state, this will be followed by a war, in which their "God", fighting on the side of their religious organization, will in turn bring an end to every political state. It doesnt take a lot to conclude that JW's are not only enemies of every other religion, but also of every political state. Although JW's claim to be concientious objectors and will not fight a war on the side of any political state, they are not anti-war, and will be well prepared to fight a war on their "Gods" side, against any political state, if called upon, by their "God", to do so, in the future. I feel they should be banned as they definetly do pose a threat, as a doomsaday cult.

Jehovah's Witnesses are an evolved American New York city religion invented in the late 1800s by a man who was into occultism pyramidology, numerology, and who stood on the top of a building with a white sheet waiting to be raptured. 130 years later, they are still awaiting a false hope. How uneducated, misinformed and narrow minded you all are. Jehovah's Witnesses have never fought other Jehovah's Witnesses (JW's) in wars unlike every other religion. Not one person killed in action, on the streets in gang warfare, drug deal gone wrong etc has even been killed by a JW. They follow bible principals whom all other religions hide from there own members. Whilst JW’s do not accept blood transfusions or eat blood products, how about reading information on the subject published in non-religious publications such the New Scientist and ask yourself if there is wisdom in their belief. No one is banned from doing anything. You are laughing at a group of people who do not bribe, steel, fight, kill, take drugs and yet you say they need to be educated? Before you publish such rubbish take an unbiased and modern look at the subject your write so much tripe about.

Why don't people actually talk to Witnesses to find out what that beleive. There's no pressure to stay, you're not cut off from unbelieving family.(I can personally testify to that) If you want to leave you can. The teachings are straight from the Bible and if other religions actually READ the Bible they'd see that the Witnesses are 100% accurate. But again, this is all in the Bible, persecution for our beliefs.

Jehovah's Witnesses are unpopular for many reasons, none of which matched the early church except for non-political involvement, which is not exclusive to them at all. They are like carnival hucksters preaching the need to become a Jehovah's Witness or die at Armageddon. They say they promote good family life? Only until you disagree with the leadership in Brooklyn on the slightest of points, and then they completely divide and destroy the family.

Jehovah's Witnesses are law abiding citizens who will never be a threat to any political system. For refusing military service they have been persecuted in many countries. They do not want to be a part of this world as Jesus taught his disciples. The police state Russia where there is hardly any freedom left, is persecuting them because JW reveal the corrupt practices of the Russian Orthodox church. This church has always been a friend of the regime, even in communist times. Now again the Orthodox church is best friends with the current political leaders. As in Jesus' days corrupt religious leaders are responsible for persecuting real Christians.

I agree with Dan, "don't ban". Banning can seem like a quick fix, but for paranoia groups like Jehovah's Witnesses, it only 'fans' their fire of persecution complex. Like to a child, if you just 'ban' something you may just drive them to it. If you educate, inform that child fully, have him check the facts. There is so much literature and so much facts online now. Please INVESTIGATE thoroughly, independently before you dedicate your life at baptism to the Watchtower Society, the "spirit-directed (???) organization". No independent thinking is allowed thereafter. Then, all your thinking is done for you. The Watchtower Society at one time banned vaccinations, organ transplants, blood fractions and later okayed for their members without any apology for those that suffered and died needlessly. Could the Watchtower okay blood transfusion also some day? The threat of disfellowshipping, expelling, shunning holds their members abusively from using and stating any free thought.

You should notice that JW and US capitalist philosophy have the same origine and has gained notoriety in the same location. Beside the globalisation's masters, also want a World-government. Notorious actors, politicians and VIP from all sectors belong to that secte which is infiltrated by the CIA and other secret services. As with all faiths, there are some good and some bad, however, with Jehovah's Witnessesthe bad outweighs the good. Perhaps if they would act as examples instead of displaying detrimental character, they would be more readily accepted. Note: JW defenders discourage Internet web searches of their Watchtower organization and have called the net the 'tool of Satan' this in itself is telling.

Most people that lie about Jehovah´s Witnesses and spread all kinds of nonsense are trying to mislead and confuse others. We can expect True Christians to be treated this way. I have known the Witnesses for 49 years, and they in fact are the only ones on this whole wide world who are truly alert to the times we are living in. They show a great community spirit during disasters, catastrophies, and hurricaines etc. helping their neighbours, not only in word, showing love to "all" no matter if Witness or Non-Witness. Helping to bring relief supplies to all, even rebuilding thousands of homes, showing the true love of neighbour and love for fellow christians. "By this, all will know that you are my disciples if you have love among yourselves." were Jesus words. Let no one blind you with empty claims. The Witnesses are an asset to the community. The white Witnesses in South Africa during the "Apartheid Rule" all went to prison, because they refused to learn to fight and kill and refused to go to war to kill black citizens in other countries. The other 56 different local religions all sent their boys to the borders to kill blacks. Where was the "love of neighbour" or where did "the other religions" show that they truly followed The Christ in "Beating their swords into Plowshears" or "love thy neighbour as thyself". Those who wish to believe lies about the Witnesses will have to bear the responsibility toward God. Those who spread lies about the Witnesses will also have to answer to God for their misleading slander and lies!. I was a Jehovah's Witness for 18 years of my life. I had no choice since I was raised in the religion. I have now been 'out' for 10 years and every day count myself very lucky to have escaped such a dangerous organization. While many, many of the people who are Jehovah's Witnesses are honest, sincere and kind people, the organization they belong to is extremely damaging. Thousands of members are "disfellowshipped" (excommunicated) every year from the religion. These people are subsequently completely shunned by all members including immediate family. If the shunning rule is broken, members are at risk of being "disfellowshipped" themselves. In addition, Jehovah's Witness parents refuse life-saving medical blood treatment for themselves and their children based on a single (and controversial) verse in the Old Testament book of Leviticus. Thousands have died because of this stance and while it may be the adult's right to refuse such treatment, it is nothing but child abuse when a parent forces this decision on a young/minor child. I personally lost all contact with my immediate family and most of my extended family because I chose to leave the religion. There is no dignified way to leave. If you disagree or conscientiously object to the religion's doctrine, you will be disfellowshipped and shunned. I have been orphaned by the organization called the Jehovah's Witnesses. They have torn my family apart. I support the freedom of each individual to believe or disbelieve, worship or not worship as they choose, so long as their doctrine can not inflict harm on others. The Jehovah's Witness (Watchtower) organization routinely destroys families and causes medical harm. They discourage youth from seeking higher education, they discourage their members from psychiatric care/counseling. Many former members have committed suicide as a result of their disfellowshipping and the shunning that they experience.

What forensic psychologist say about cult leaders like Jim Jones and David Koresh. They are control freaks who will never abdicate control.They will choose death by suicide or a fiery fight to the very end.We can indeed see a comparison with the arrogant watchtower cult.

Jehovah's Witnesses would be obscure and no one would say anything negative about them except they instigate problems. 1) break up families under the guise of Jesus said so. 2) let kids die from no blood transfusion then say it's from God and then have all kinds of you can use blood parts loopholes. 3) go door to door and lie about why they are really there say it's to encourage Bible reading when they want to get literature in your hands ask for donation and then come back bothersome because you took literature just to be nice to them.
