The Yakovlev 42 plane crash near the city of Yaroslavl in Central Russia has left the majority of the local ice-hockey team Lokomotiv dead. It is not the first air accident in history to have taken the lives of sportsmen. Here are the others.

Very sad indeed to see these terrible accidents.My wife and I try to fly to Helsinki and then by train to St Petersburg as she insists that it is not safe to fly in Russia.I do hope the authorities do something about Russian air safety

The plane crashed during take-off from MunichAirport, where it had stopped for refueling." It is indeed a tragedy of the news of the players and other passengers that died today.
Howeve r, please get your facts straight when comparing to other tragedies involving other sporting teams.. RIP.
